A Special Massage from the Whittlesea City Basketball Association
It has been brought to the attention of the Junior Domestic Committee that many players are now wearing skins under their uniforms and knee braces. Please note both of these are not allowed unless they fall under the following rules below:
Can all clubs please ensure that this is emailed out to all players/coaches etc. and put on your Facebook page. Nathan can you please put this on the Facebook page for all referees to see as it is an ongoing problem.
SKINS ARE NOT ALLOWED TO BE WORN: Please refer to the bylaw:
Sleeves/shooting sleeves are not permitted to be worn. If sleeves/shooting sleeves/compression stockings (Skins) are to be worn for a medical reason than a medical certificate MUST be produced as proof for this AND CARRIED ON THEM AT ALL TIMES. This will then need to be shown on request and a copy given to the Administration Officer to be kept on record. Medical certificates MUST have start and end dates on them. Compression stockings (Skins) may then be worn provided they are of the same dominant colour as the teams shorts. If worn on the upper leg stocking must end above the shorts and not be seen. If for the lower leg it must start below the knee.
KNEE BRACES –
Knee braces if properly covered may be worn. A written application with a medical certificate must be given to the Competition administrator for permission for the knee braces to be worn. The medical certificate must also be shown upon request and carried on them at all times. Medical certificates MUST have a start and end date on them. Full leg must not be worn. Knee pads cannot cover the THIGH or the CALF. Skins with KNEE PADS are BANNED.
TEAMS WITHOUT COACHES-
All teams MUST have a coach on the bench at all times. Coaches MUST be adult age and carry a current WWC card. If there is no coach on the bench then it will be treated the same as an unnotified walkover. The clock will start and count down to the 10 minute mark of the first half. If no coach is on the bench by then, than a unnotified walkover will be given. The full walkover fine will be required to be paid.
Please note that all referees and supervisors will be instructed to tell players to remove their skins or knee braces unless they fall under the rules above. This rule will take place immediately.
